The Brahma Transformer is an ignition transformer used in gas and oil burner systems. It is designed to generate high-voltage sparks for igniting fuel in industrial and domestic heating appliances. These transformers typically operate on a 230V input and can produce a high-voltage output, depending on the specific model.
The transformers are available in different configurations, including single or dual-pole versions, and are built for both continuous and non-continuous operation. Their durable design and safety features, such as built-in protection systems, make them widely used in both residential and commercial settings.
New Models: The TT1F and TT2F
We are pleased to have access to two new models on the market. The Brahma TT range Ignition Transformers are unprecedented because they have a built-in electronic timer designed to reduce the discharge energy after a pre-determined interval. This new and exclusive feature renders the transformers a universal product suitable for all types of gas and oil burners in civil and industrial applications.
Operating on the principle of a high-frequency oscillator, the voltage they generate increases via a transformer with a ferrite core, resulting in output voltages of up to 17 kV for the TT1F and 2×13 kV for the TT2F. The timer function renders the transformer an ignition unit capable of functioning in continuous mode but with notably superior initial energy. For this reason, the presence of the timer is exceptionally advantageous for all applications that require constant discharge while still ensuring the possibility of intermittent mode operation.
The Brahma Ignition Transformers are fitted with an EMC filter to minimize the emission of electromagnetic interference; in this way, they don’t need external filter systems and complies with the EMC directive 2014/30/EU.
It’s also worth noting that these transformers can be used as a replacement for the Satronic ZT930 & ZT931, and that they are available in hardwire or 4mm push on versions.
The Key Benefits of the Brahma Transformer
Here are a few more benefits of the Brahma Transformers.
High Efficiency in Ignition
The transformer generates a high-voltage spark (often between 8kV to 17kV) that reliably ignites gas or oil in heating systems, ensuring consistent performance in boilers and burners.
Durability and Longevity
Brahma ignition transformers are designed for long-term use, with robust construction that can handle continuous or intermittent operation, depending on the model. This makes them a dependable choice for both residential and commercial heating systems.
Safety Features
Many Brahma transformers are equipped with built-in safety mechanisms, such as protection against overloading and automatic shut-off features to prevent overheating and other electrical faults.
Wide Application Range
These transformers are versatile and can be used in various systems, including furnaces, water heaters, hot air generators, and steam boilers. This flexibility makes them suitable for a broad range of heating needs.
Energy Efficiency
Brahma transformers are designed to discharge energy efficiently, reducing waste and ensuring that the fuel ignition process is optimised for minimal energy use.
In conclusion
These benefits make Brahma ignition transformers a reliable component in systems that require precise and safe ignition for fuel combustion. If you’d like to find out more, please just get in touch.
