The technical details
How they work
The sanitising lighting solutions use a combination of visible spectrum wavelengths that are effective on viruses, as well as bacteria. Because they can penetrate the multi-drug-resistant bacterial biofilm and destroy it from within, they offer significant protection from viruses and bacteria. The microbicidal action is triggered by the patented combination of frequencies within the range of the visible (non-UV) spectrum (known as the Soret band) which is scientifically proven to be harmful to viruses and bacteria, as well as other microorganisms.
It’s important to note the issues with many UV bulbs. Exposure to UV light bulbs can pose several risks depending on the type and intensity of UV radiation. Skin damage is a concern, particularly with prolonged exposure to UVB and UVC, which can cause burns, premature aging, and an increased risk of skin cancer. Eye problems are another potential issue, as UV exposure may lead to irritation, corneal damage (photokeratitis), and even cataracts over time. Additionally, some UVC bulbs produce ozone, which can lead to respiratory irritation if used in poorly ventilated spaces.
